Program officer in France

Musawa is an organization bases in Troyes/France, whose primary mission is to promote a democratic and human rights culture, that is especially concerned with women’s rights and gender equality, and to contribute to eliminating all forms of discrimination and violence against women, and to empowering women and their effective participation in political, economic, social, and cultural fields. Musawa has a special interest in refugee women’s affairs.

 

Overall Responsibility

 

Program officer position is in charge of supporting the development, update, and implementation of Musawa’s program. Program officer position also participate actively in advocacy and fundraising activities.

Specific responsibilities are:

 

Program implementation:

  • Support the implementation and follow up of program activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of events and trainings.
  • Implement quality investigations and tools to measure project impacts.

Support information and internal communication:

 

  • Coordinate publishing activities, including the reports in the frame of the program.

Advocacy and External Communication

 

  • Develop links with institutional actors and CSOs at National, European, and International level.
  • Process membership applications and information sharing within from the organisation.
  • Participate, upon request, to the public representation of Musawa (medias, institutions, association, and professional networks, etc).

Fundraising and reporting:

 

  • Identify and follow up on opportunities and calls for proposal published by International donors.
  • Contribute to development of project proposals.
  • Follow up monitoring and evaluation procedures.
  • Support the contractualization and launching of new projects.
  • Support the reporting process for donors: follow up internal deadlines in HQ and regional.
  • offices and coordinate compilation of the reports.

Team Collaboration:

 

This position reports directly to Director of Musawa.

Close collaboration with Project officers/coordinators.

Job requirement:

  • A degree in social sciences, gender or development studies or peace and conflict. Relevant courses related to gender studies, conflict management, advocacy, women’s economic empowerment, project cycle management are assets. Master degree is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English and French.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office application.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience within development field.
  • Good knowledge of middle east affairs and issues in specific women issues.
  • Arabic language fluency is a plus.

Skills-set:

 

  • Previous experience in communicating with international donors, identifies and follow up on opportunities and calls for proposal published by International donors and development of project proposals.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and reporting skills.
  • Good understanding of M&E tools and challenges.
  • Awareness of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multi-cultural groups.
  • Knowledge of women’s rights, international law, including human rights, humanitarian law, and regional and international human rights mechanisms.

Our main office is in Troyes. Work online accepted, if the applicant is able to come to Troyes when necessary, not exceeding once a week.
